Action Pick

A star-studded hostage thriller with kinetic energy to spare

A movie star in freefall is taken hostage by a radical warrior and her followers at a glossy charity gala, and the night spirals into kinetic chaos. Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, Vincent Cassel, and John Malkovich give it real firepower, and director Romain Gavras keeps the mayhem moving fast. It gets messy and does not always stick the landing, but the energy and the cast carry it. Screenings are thin this week, so plan ahead if you want to catch it.
