Harmonie is an arthouse cinema on Dreieichstraße in Sachsenhausen, run by Arthouse Kinos Frankfurt. It first opened on the street in 1920, which makes it one of Frankfurt's oldest cinemas, and its larger room hosts premieres and special events alongside the regular programme. A bistro and bar area serves drinks and snacks before and after the film.
There are two rooms. The Große Harmonie has 186 seats, including seats on a balcony; the Kleine Harmonie has 84 seats, with small tables from the fourth row. The cinema is not step-free: four steps lead up to the foyer and the small room, the large room is upstairs, and there is no lift and no accessible toilet. Arthouse's FAQ asks visitors who cannot reach a room to get in touch before their visit. The cinema is at Lokalbahnhof, served by tram, bus and S-Bahn; see the directions page for details.
On Arthouse's own programme, "OmU" means the original version with German subtitles, which does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
